'The Comedian'
New Fiction - Published in 5 daily installments, beginning May 23
On the morning of the big announcement, Langston Ragsdale finds a forgotten face staring back at him in the bathroom mirror.
This was his shrink’s fault. Had to be. But why was Dr. Peep Toe showing up half-dressed in his dreams, conjuring buried feelings he keeps hidden during therapy?
Despite his success, why can’t he sleep at night? And why can’t he shake the feeling that his marriage is not all it should be?
As the tables are turned unexpectedly on the biggest day of his career, will he find a way to cast aside the Uncle Tom image he’s been saddled with for years and vindicate an all-but-abandoned part of himself?
Find out in “The Comedian”—new short fiction from Jazprose.
Published in 5 daily installments on Substack. Beginning Monday, May 23, 2022.
Audio for each installment runs about 15 minutes. This is in response to readers who felt the segments in last year’s novella (Amanuensis) were too short.
Although previews of “The Comedian” will be available for those with free subscriptions, full text and audio for this story will be for paid subscribers only.
