Why We Love Herschel Walker
A true Georgian explains what liberals, the media, and other outsiders fail to understand about the football legend.
On TV the former Heisman Trophy winner and 2022 candidate for United States Senator, smiles winningly at the camera. His opponent Reverend Raphael Warnock is a minister, Walker tells us, and he is running a dirty, nasty campaign.
The ex-football player wants us to know that he is a good guy. Sure, he’s had mental health issues in the past. Might have threatened to kill somebody. Might have held a gun to his wife’s head and a razor to her throat. But he’s dealt with all that, even wrote a book about it.
The lighting on his face is perfect.
He’s got a great smile. How can you not believe him when he delivers the goal-winning tagline? “I’m Herschel Walker, saved by grace.”
But the main thing the Pro Football Hall of Famer wants us to know is that his opponent is for President Biden, while he (Herschel Junior Walker) is for Georgia.
Now that right there puts a pang in the heart of anyone who knows what this guy means to the Peach State, which has been rising from Sherman’s ashes ever since the end of the Civil War.
If you are a true Georgian—and not one of these outsiders that have been diluting the purity of the suburbs with liberal views—you can’t look at that smile and not recall that Walker’s number (34) from when he was an All-American Georgia Bulldog has been retired.
Quite simply, there is no one like Herschel.
And true Georgians know it. That’s why his supporters are proud to display his campaign poster on their lawns. Only folks from outside the Peach State call him Herschel Walker. On the front-yard posters of true Georgians, he is simply Herschel.
Like one fella said when the TV news people asked who he planned to vote for. “Herschel has a good heart. That’s all that matters.”
Note that the voter did not say, “Herschel is a good ole boy.” Or just, “Herschel is a good boy.” That’s what liberals want you to believe.
They want you to believe that Herschel Junior Walker, arguably the best running back Georgia has ever seen, is an Uncle Tom—that word liberals love to throw around when a Black conservative steps forward to express his God-given freedom of speech under the United States Constitution.
They want you to believe
that Herschel will say, “Yes sir, Massa,” to whatever the Republican Party leadership wants to do. Reduce government spending. Yes sir, Massa. Cut Social Security and Medicare. Yes sir, Boss. Pass more tax cuts. On it, sir.
Repeal Biden’s tax increases on corporations. Cut funding for the IRS so it won’t have the resources to go after big corporations and anyone wealthy enough and smart enough to pay zero taxes.
Liberals believe that whatever the party wants him to do, Herschel will do it. Especially if it means preventing Joe Biden from achieving anything else during the remaining two years of his administration.
But here’s the thing:
Ain’t nothing wrong if Herschel decides to do that. All he’d be doing is helping the GOP reverse Joe Biden’s efforts to expand the shrinking middle class.
Hasn’t Rev. Warnock voted with Joe Biden 96 percent of the time? Does that make Warnock an Uncle Tom? You don’t hear anybody saying that, do you? So why call Herschel a Tom should he get to Washington and do the same thing for the other side?
Liberal money from outside the state
is trying to tell the world that Herschel is not only an insensitive, uncaring Baby-Daddy, but a hypocrite who claims to be against abortion when he allegedly paid at least two of his former girlfriends to have the procedure performed on their supposedly autonomous bodies.
But the thing that liberals don’t understand is this: Don’t none of that matter. Not down here. What matters is that Herschel has been saved by grace. Any evil he may have committed in the past—well, that’s been wiped out by forgiveness.
If you’re a true Georgian, you understand that.
Because this down here is the Bible Belt. And also because this election ain’t about politics. It’s about football.
You’ve heard that orange is the new black, right? Well, football is the new politics. Everything that happens on Capitol Hill is all about keeping the other side from scoring. Just like football. Block, sack, tackle, run out the clock. Whatever it takes. As long as you wear a suit and tie and use big words like filibuster while doing it.
So it’s only right that the future of the country should come down to Georgia. This is a football state with a long memory.
Down here, we remember the Sugar Bowl of 1981 when Herschel rushed 36 times for 150 yards, taking the Bulldogs to victory over powerhouse Notre Dame itself. Even though old Herschel was suffering from a dislocated shoulder at the time.
Power like that comes only from God, you see.
And if God can do that, he can certainly forgive a man who has repented his past wrongs. A man who has stepped forward into the light of eternal salvation. The Bible is full of stories like this. King David. Samson. The Prodigal Son. God’s forgiveness is everywhere.
And if Herschel gets to Congress, God will provide necessary guidance in the form of Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, and maybe even The Former Guy (if he has not been indicted by then).
So go ahead, liberals. Spend your millions supporting Raphael Warnock. The polls are in a statistical dead heat. Inflation has been sent by God to save the GOP. It is only temporary, but voters don’t care about that.
They also don’t care that the GOP plan to cut taxes will only make inflation worse. That stuff’s too complicated for most voters. What voters care about is this month’s grocery bill and the price they pay at the gas pump. By the time they figure things out, it will be too late. The GOP will be firmly in control again.
It is 4th and goal. And now that all eyes are on Georgia for the second time in two years, who better to invest our hopes in than this NFL hero, a legend who has run the ball many times before—and won. Herschel Junior Walker. Now better than ever.
Because he’s been saved by grace.

There are many great football players that deserve your admiration why was it on him. He has way to much baggage to lug around. Like many bad guy when before the judge claim, I have see the light spare me. I don’t buy it. He still today lies. We don’t need a liar in congress!
Brilliant!
