Another great piece and perspective. The closing section citing the movie Love Actually particularly hits home. You effectively tie it to the political race and surrounding issues, no small feat. There have been a few occasions where my oldest daughter and I make time to watch that flick together during the holidays. I am in my 70s, she has turned 50. Christmas is still Christmas, we are still father and daughter, and the arts still have the power to help us tone down the noise and focus on what is important in life. Thanks for reminding me of that.
Thanks to you, too. So glad to know this piece resonated with you and reminded you of that important point of connection and sharing with your daughter. It's really heartening to hear things like that.
"Sends Hershell to the showers on December 6." Thanks for extending the metaphor. Wish I'd thought of that. And thanks for reading and adding your thoughts!

I will feel a whole lot more loving if Rev. Warnock sends Hershell to the showers on Dec. 6. Thanks for a very powerful piece!

Bravo, Andrew, you've really hit your stride with this one. A manifesto for opposition without vengefulness, for love in the face of hatred.
Thanks for seeing something worthy in it, Mikels. Really glad you liked it. I'm always grateful for your encouragement and support.
Every time I think you've written your best article, you prove me wrong and come up with one even better. I love your writing and your message.
