Haunting. That’s a good word for it. I was a big fan of the Lone Ranger too. Thanks for taking a moment to read and share your thoughts. Much appreciated!
One of my favorite Art Drops, Andrew! Do I say that every time? Mary Ellen Mark’s photographs are mesmerizing - what a talent! But you don’t stop there - you highlight one of her photos (& article) and then deftly write about the universal stages of life and how difficult it can be to “let go” of the past as we grow older - something all of us at every age can relate to. Very timely AD with everything going on around us concerning the age issue - with President Biden and all the baby boomers out there (like me). It is NOT easy to do that self-assessing thing. I’ll file away the Carl Jung quote and refer to it when I need to. Thank you, Andrew.
Such a bittersweet tale of one of my childhood heroes and an insightful connection with President Biden...and all of us. Many thanks for sharing these thoughts!
How interesting! I always learn something new reading your posts, Andrew. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, Deborah, for reading and weighing in. I’m really glad you found it interesting.
Must you ALWAYS be so deep, thoughtful, and wide ranging? Excellent essay on the costs of fame and the insults of aging with your usual magic touch.
Aw shucks, Ma’am. May I clone you please? Thanks so much for your kindness, encouragement, and support.
I am seriously envious of your reach. I thought I was pretty cool, but you make me look like chopped liver.
You are cool. Period. Thanks again!
Wonderful piece, Andrew. Mary Ellen Mark is a favorite.
Thanks so much, Jolene. She’s a favorite of mine too. Really appreciate your thoughts.
I was a fan of the Lone Ranger as a kid. This portrait is so haunting. His story is interesting, I never knew it. Thank you for sharing it!

And may you have a lovely week as well!

Great piece - always love how you connect things in ways that others do not.
Thanks so much, Robert. That’s something I do without realizing it. Good to know it resonates with you. Much appreciated!
Thanks for introducing me to Mary Ellen Mark, Andrew! That is indeed a great sad shot of Moore.
My pleasure! It really is a striking and sad portrait of Moore. Hard to hide from Mark’s penetrating eye. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Yes! That's what I also appreciate about your work--how you take threads and weave together, always more than the parts!
Thanks so much, Alison. It’s so heartening to know my seemingly meandering stories hang together and resonate with you. Much appreciated!
Really glad to know you liked this one. Thanks so much for reading and sharing your encouraging thoughts. I really appreciate it.
It probably won’t surprise you, Andrew, that Mary Ellen Marks is one of my favorite photographers. And Biden. Same as president. Time to move on.
Not surprised at all, Pam. I can see her influence in your work. And now you even own a Leica! Thanks for reading and weighing in.
