All three were cool. But Rumi was definitely the coolest. Cool heads. I suppose that's a big part of what this piece is about. Or the lack thereof these days. Thanks for reading and commenting!
Love the juxtaposition of the two incidents. We need a bit of humor and understanding towards each other these days. It’s a shame headline (only) news readers will think O.B. acted in an entitled, rude manner. There’s definitely an us-against-them attitude with some flight attendants these last few years. I’ve witnessed it myself.
Glad you liked that juxtaposition. I totally get what flight attendants must be feeling these days. They almost need combat pay for what they've been through since the pandemic. That Ali story goes back to the 70s, I think. And the words tell only part of the story. The champ may have empowered the flight attendant's response by his own facial expression or even a wink. That's why I really believe the Beckham incident comes down to that initial interpersonal interaction. Thanks for reading and commenting. Much appreciated!
Well said. We need to throw those two words (compromise & cooperation) into the washing machine. Because we are greatly in need of compassion and humor. Thanks so much for reading and sharing your thoughts. Always appreciated!
The cool flight attendant giving Ali what for, almost as cool as Rumi.

In a world where compromise and cooperation are dirty words there can be no place for humor of compassion.

This is a sagacious perspective.
Shrewdly put! Thanks so much for reading and commenting. It helps others find my stories, and I really appreciate it.
