I'm fail to read your excellent pieces detailingthe machinations of the white Christian Nationalists and the MAGA Republicans to subvert the Constitution and understand how you can keep such an even tone in your writing. My blood boils as I read between the lines and anticipate the dark road this country will take if our Supreme Court doesn't strike down such dangerous laws and our electorate doesn't kick to the curb right-wing candidates' attempt to win control of the government.

I’m surprised that so many people seem willing to replace the basic tenets of our democracy in exchange for a religious agenda that could easily be replaced by some other religion’s beliefs down the road.

Instead of buying the world a coke, I’d like to buy America a pair of eyeglasses. Can anyone around here spell myopia?

Thanks for reading and commenting. Much appreciated!

This is the best analysis of the new Louisiana law and push for white Christian Nationalism and what's at stake for America with this new Supreme Court that I've read. It is scary and disheartening. If Biden doesn't win the presidency I fear we will be tumbling down a long dark road of decline. Thank you for writing and sharing this.

You raise an important point, Deborah. The winner of this year’s presidential election will probably get to appoint two more Supreme Court justices. That’s a pretty big thing.

What some folks don’t seem to realize is this: suppose the religious affiliation of the party in control was Islam or Hinduism? Breaking down the wall between church and state is an invitation to theocracy.

Thanks for taking the time to read and share your encouraging thoughts.

Unfortunately the conservative white Christian mindset is acting as a unified group and those who outnumber them are fragmented. The result is that the smaller group has a disproportionate power. It may be their dying gasp but they are succeeding. I fear the damage they are doing.

Well said. The theocracy they envision may be Christian, but it’s still a theocracy. Hasn’t anyone told these people about the Inquisition, the Salem witch trials, ot the Scarlet Letter? Jumping Jiminy Cricket! Thanks for reading and sharing your response.

It's hard to see by what logic the Supreme Court could allow this. Unfortunately, it's also easy to see them doing it.

Absolutely. They’ve already shown that logic is secondary to their “higher” intentions. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. Much appreciated.
