I actually listened to it. I love to hear you talk. You bring your writing to life when you narrate!!

Thanks! It’s really good to know that. Recently, I have been thinking about dropping the narration. Some people prefer reading to listening because it’s faster. Your feedback tells me I should keep doing it. So I will. (PS: I’m also trying to get better at it!)

Andre, you are welcome! Whatever you decide is fine with me! I love your writing style but also love your soothing voice.

Your take on this is (as always) thoughtful, and looks at the big picture through an historical lens. I especially love the last sentence of the essay: It’s going to take a lot more than a few drunken racists on a pontoon boat to undo all of that good history from the last 60 years.

“The racially charged incident struck a chord that reaches deep into the reptilian brain, triggering visceral fight-or-flight reactions.”

Elsewhere in the news a Black man (whose name escapes me at the moment, but nicknamed "Michigan" for the T-shirt he wore) is getting tons of credit for intervening in the fight in a peaceful way. A teaspoon of hope in an ocean of troubles. It seems I'm always thanking you for your writing. It never gets old.
